For the flower and garden exhibition Floriade (1960) a prestigious viewing platform was build near the entrance of Maastunnel. The tower reached 321 foot above ground; Ten years later Euromast was raised to, for those times, a stunning 555 foot
Rotterdam never sleeps; They are always building higher and higher. In the early seventies this Rotterdam icon was modified with an extra 255 feet so it was, with a stunning height of 555 feet, again the highest building in Rotterdam. The owners even want to upgrade the tower again to a 1111 feet, but that will happen maybe in future. The orginal 'Floriade'-flagpole that stood on top of Euromast now stands near the entrance.
A fenomenal panorama view, we recommendend a visit.
The panorama deck (the crow's nest) is based at 288 feet, here you find the restaurant and panorama decks. Not afraid of these heights yet ? Take a trip up with the Euroscoop; This is a glass elevator going up to 555 foot and spins around the tower so you can see everything around.
The real thrill-seekers dont have to go down by luxerious fast elevator ; Abseiling, at own risc, is possible. My English language coach Linda Russel (www.englishrose.nl) also went down one time to dare her students to go to the limit.
